By using the SAHANA platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Donations

SAHANA (Sahana People) is a free humanitarian networking platform, not a charity that collects or holds public donations. When you choose to help a person listed on the platform, your contribution goes directly to that person's own bank account or contact details shown on their profile. Sahana People does not receive, hold, or manage any donation funds — we simply connect people who need help with people who want to help.

Donors and volunteers are encouraged to voluntarily share receipts, photos, and updates so the community can see the impact of direct contributions on our public transparency dashboard.

Verification & Safety

While our volunteer team verifies each beneficiary before their profile is published, SAHANA cannot guarantee the outcome of any individual transaction between a donor and a beneficiary. Before sending money or contacting any person directly, please verify their identity and current situation by phone — call our team at +94 77 754 3078 — to confirm you are transferring funds to the right person.

SAHANA is a connecting network and is not responsible for transactions made directly between donors and beneficiaries.

Volunteers

Volunteers agree to act honestly and in good faith when identifying, verifying, and reporting on beneficiaries, and to accurately report the use of any funds or aid distributed on their behalf.

Accuracy of Information

While we strive to verify all beneficiary and donation information, SAHANA cannot guarantee complete accuracy in every case and relies on the good faith reporting of our volunteer network.

Limitation of Liability

SAHANA facilitates connections between donors and beneficiaries but is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the platform.
